Searching OptimusLaw - Searching OptimusLaw for legal representation or information is easy. Follow these tips to find exactly what you are looking for.
Using the Web Site Search Feature - The Web Site Search Feature searches each page or document in the selected web site, along with any member lawyer web sites hosted by OptimusLaw, for the specific words or combinations of words that you select. The text search engine will display a weighted list of matching documents by title, with closer matches shown first. Each document title listed is a link to a matching page. The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. Review the tips below to learn how to perform successful searches on OptimusLaw's family of web sites.
Selecting an OptimusLaw Web Site to Search - The OptimusLaw family of lawyer directories consists of a national portal, OptimusLaw.Com, 50 state directories, a Washington D.C. directory, a Puerto Rico directory, the Law Library Online and 22 OptimusLaw Help Centers. Choose a web site based on the geographical location of your legal issue or where you desire to obtain legal representation. Our search feature is limited to the current web site that you are viewing. For example, while browsing the Pennsylvania Lawyer Directory you cannot search the Ohio Lawyer Directory.
Always Include a City or County Name - OptimusLaw's family of web sites contain tens of thousands of pages and documents. Adding a city or county name to your search expression will narrow the results to member lawyers in the selected city or county. For example, searching for the legal issue DUI will return every page or document in the OptimusLaw web site, including hosted member lawyer web sites, containing the word DUI. The search would return hundreds of pages. Entering the expression DUI and Greene would narrow the search to only those pages that contain both words, DUI and Greene. This would return only lawyers that handle DUI matters in Greene County.
Search For An Area of Law or General Legal Topic Rather Than a Specific Legal Matter - It is impossible to list every single legal issue that each member lawyer handles. Therefore, searching for a specific legal issue may not return all of the lawyers in your county that could handle your matter. Searching by an Area of Law or a general legal topic will not exclude lawyers that may handle your issue, but did not specifically list it. For example, searching for criminal and Greene would return lawyers practicing in Greene County who may not specifically list DUI, but who would probably handle DUI matters, since DUI matters are normally handled by lawyers who focus their practice on criminal law. A search containing Greene and bankruptcy would return lawyers who handle the general topic of bankruptcy in Greene County. Searching for Greene and Chapter and 11 would only return lawyers specifically listing Chapter 11 in Greene County and may exclude lawyers listing only the general topic of bankruptcy.
Searching for a Specific Lawyer - You can search for a specific member lawyer or law firm if you have a name and want to learn more. Please keep in mind that OptimusLaw is a directory of subscribing members lawyers and only lawyers or law firms that subscribe to our directory are included. OptimusLaw does not maintain information on non-members. Enter the expression Abraham and Lincoln to search for pages or documents that contain the member lawyer Abraham Lincoln. Enter the expression Lincoln Law Firm to search for pages and documents containing the three words Lincoln, Law and Firm. Narrow your search by adding a county name, if known.
Searching the Law Library for Information - You can effectively search for a member lawyer that handles a specific legal issue by entering an expression such as Greene and DUI, which will return lawyers who handle DUI matters in Greene County. If you are interested in searching for articles or information about a legal issue such as DUI, go to a Law Library and enter the expression Greene and and DUI. This search will return all pages in the Greene County Law Library that contain the word DUI. Always enter a county name when searching the Law Library for articles and definitions.
Searching an OptimusLaw Help Center for Information - You can effectively search for information on a specific legal issue by entering a word or expression such as DUI which will return all articles that include the term DUI. Entering What and Is and DUI will limit the results to articles that contain the phrase what is DUI. If you are interested in searching for articles or information about a legal issue, go to the OptimusLaw Help Center and select a state, then a practice area. This returns a page with links to counties in your state for your chosen practice area. Then click Search on the bottom button bar.
